Default Driftless area last 2 days.

I was able to get out Thursday, Friday the last to days of Wisconsin trout season. Browns were very hungry for hoppers. It was very windy on Thursday. I was fishing a smaller creek I like . The wind was a issue, but not to bad I was still able to fish. I caught many Browns between 13" - 10" I did hool up with a few bigger Browns I was broke off once and 1 just came un pinned still very fun. I did have one Brown which beached it self after a jump which was kind of funny. The Fall colors are just starting to appear on the hillsides very pretty. Already I can't wait for spring. Fish came on hoppers, Goodards, beadhead Beatis, Mohair leaches, Muddlers, and parchute adams. http://i938.photobucket.com/albums/a...arlB46/012.jpg http://i938.photobucket.com/albums/a...arlB46/020.jpg http://i938.photobucket.com/albums/a...arlB46/025.jpg http://i938.photobucket.com/albums/a...lB46/006-2.jpg http://i938.photobucket.com/albums/a...lB46/004-2.jpg http://i938.photobucket.com/albums/a...lB46/003-4.jpg http://i938.photobucket.com/albums/a...arlB46/026.jpg http://i938.photobucket.com/albums/a...lB46/010-1.jpg

Nice pictures of a beautiful trip. I just love Wisconsin and one of these days I'm gonna fish the Driftless.

And all done with bamboo....ummm....it just doesn't get any better! What is that rod? I don't recognize it.

Enjoyed your pictorial. Looks like a great two days.
Being a bamboo fisherman I'm also interested in your rod.

Thanks, that is the first boo I have built. It's not very fancy, but it does have very good mojo have been catching a lot of trout with it. IThe taper I used was a PHY Driggs 7'-2" 4/5 wt. very nice for the spring creeks. I do hope to build more . Carl

Excellent effort for your first rod!
The Driggs taper is a powerful one for that length.
