Unexpected Find
How about this one. I bought a dry fly cape from a hair stylist. It was full of tiny , short , rust colored feathers that they found to be of little use. What I saw was a beautiful rusty bronze color Whiting Farms cape with feathers down to size 20 or maybe smaller. Sure , I'll give a few bucks for it I thought. I think I've got this hair thing figured out. What they really want are nice long feathers in about size 8 and 10 in barred colors. Anything less than 5 or 6 inches or in a solid color does not seem to fit there needs. That sweet spot at the top of the neck where you find the shorter feathers in smaller sizes are throw away to them it seems. As for me , I'll take them all day long.
