Yes there is, but right now the lake levels are very high, making access a little testy at times. All the campgrounds do have access though also you can fish from shore at any of the state parks and all the shoreline you can find at LBL my favorite spot is the Devils Elbow on the Barkley side of LBL just off Hwy 80.

For fly fishing, I think I'd go to Reelfoot instead of Kentucky Lake.

Rick, if you're thinknig about heading to Reelfoot, let me know. I went to school near there and can give you a little guidance.

    Rick,
If you are coming to Ky Lake. Let me know, I will show you some places to bank fish. If possible, I would like to fish with you. I have all kinds of boats>bassboat, kayak, canoe, kickboat, pontoon boat.

Currently Lake Barkley is closed to swimming due to E. Coli.

A buddy of mine had a nearly legendary time bass fishing on the fly at that lake while visiting for the day. I dont know about the shore fishing but whatever you do, make sure to bring some flies for bass along!
