Upcoming celebration of the anniversary of birthday.
I overheard a rumor of a young lady, referred to as the Kansas Sunflower, who would be celebrating the anniversary of her 16th birthday again. There was some speculation that this local fellow named Cary might be plotting to ask her out for a malt and then go down to Lake Olathe for the submarine races or bluegill spawning or some such. He was quoted as saying "Candy was dandy, but Cheez It were the ticket!"
But it was just a rumor.
