    Default Fiberglass blanks

I'm a bamboo guy but was able to recently cast a Kabuto 8' 5 weight glass rod (which I thought was more a 4 weight). I liked the rod a lot and it's piqued my interest in acquiring a glass rod. I particularly like the "look" of Kabuto and Paddock yellow/lemon blanks. Can anyone suggest others? This would be a custom build.....not by me!

    Thanks.

Steffen Brothers, South Fork, Lamiglass, Tom Morgan, Sweet Grass, also check out http://fiberglassflyrodders.yuku.com/directory for many more ideas. Also Cabelas has a great bargain on their anniversary glass rods. These are only $100.

    Bob,

I forgot to tell you that they are making the Norie Flex Taylor again. It is a VERY, VERY, slow rod.

I fish bamboo Christopher but I prefer a more medium action.
Slow can be okay but very, very slow is not my cup of tea.

Thanks again for your suggestions. You too hardhat!

I'm not in the market but if I was this one interests me. As I recall Russ Peak had a hand in these. Too bad they came along just when Graphite hit or I'd a owned one. There where very few sold in Denver in the day.....I always loved the split butt cap for the leader wrap around.

Thank you for the link hairwing.

Maybe I should refine my post. I'm looking for "bamboo like blanks".
Yellowish/goldish colors. Maybe Mr. Peak accomplished this? I really don't know.

There's always Lami glass! Nifty color, great action, incredibly fun to fish!

While I don't have all the info in front of me here at work. do a search for Kettle Creek rods. I found this http://fiberglass-fly-rods.pbworks.c...tle-Creek-Rods.
I've built a few of these for friends and they are really great. Phil has more models than are listed on the link. he does not have a web site but when you get him on the phone he will give you the low down on all the models.

Get a hold of Mike Mcfarland http://www.mcfarlandrods.com/ he makes his own blanks and will make just a blank for you if you want someone else to build it. His blanks are extremely nice.
