When are we going to get more people in here?
I see lots of people on here but only like 5 at a time in the CR.
Is it just no one can get a link or something???

My guess is that chat rooms appeal to far less people than boards do. I'm basing this on research conducted among "an unbiased panel of one" --me. I can't type fast with accuracy and having multiple conversations going on at once disorients me. I tried the FAOL chat rooms a few times a few years ago. It was not a satisfying experience for me due to the reasons just cited, so I no longer participate.

I have to agree with oldfrat. At one time we had a couple of members that used the chat room to complain about the stock market and a couple of youngsters (no offence Tom) that only wanted to show photos of the last fly they tied!
Lately the chat room conversations tend to flow from one subject to another with everyone following along. Not making a first timer welcome and including them in the conversation is a problem and one reason I became a host. We seem to get a new or long missing member in the Chat Room quite often now.
Also, as I stated in another thread, Most of the members in the Chat Room are "Doers" attending Fish-In's, Tying Expos, Fly Swaps, etc. The Chat Room is one way to keep up on what's happening.
