G Loomis Rod Value

I have a G Loomis GL3 4 piece 8.5 ft 4 weight rod. Model # FR1024-4. I searched the web to try to find the MSRP was but was unsuccessful as the model has been discontinued. Could any of you be of assistance? Perhaps you have an old catalog or are a better searcher than I am.

GL3 was the $250-$300 price point back in the day. The 4pc would have beenin the top half of that, probably in the 275-300 range. Most used rods go for about half retail on the boards, although a sweet rod like a GL3 in good shape might do better. I had a 3wt I loved, broke the tip, sent it in, and they sent me one of the new models instead, which I did not like. Such is life.

I found an old 2002 Loomis catalog. That rod sold for $260. then. Try "Completed Auctions" on EBay to see what they're selling for now. I'd guess about $140-$170 as new with sock & tube, but may be a little lower as Loomis has dropped the warranty on GL3's.
