[Midwest Custom Fly Rods]

This one is on a Batson Forecast 865-4 blank. Grip is a coralwood accent end rev half wells with a matching wood for the insert set in Nickle Silver Batson BUL5 Hardware. Wraps are Gudebrod "Rust" #257 without CP which makes for a really nice rusty brown color on the blank to match the grip & seat. Also has metallic silver trim bands and single foot chrome guides.

As usual, Steve, it's a beauty! The workmanship is top grade, and the color combinations you use are always pleasing to the eye.

2 quick questions...what color is this blank?, and...what action would you say this blank is?

Paul it is the Forecast series of Batson blanks which are a very deep dark blue. Almost looks black from about 6ft away, but up close you can see the blue in it. It's rated Mod/Fast and I'd say that's a pretty accurate description of the action. It is a tad more moderate than fast, but still has good power and a quick enough tip recovery to throw some decent sized flies.
