Traveling to Arkansas, Requesting Info

A good friend of mine who works in the bovine nutrition industry, is traveling to Arkansas in a short while. To quote him
"I've got business in Arkansas this week and will be traveling in the Russellville/Little Rock area. I did a little googling and found that they stock... trout on the Ouachita River below Lake Catherine. Has anyone done any fishing in that area?"

Forgive him, he is a warm water angler with very little exposure to the coldwater salmonids. What advice might there be for a business trip traveler who wants to get in some fishing in that area?

Go to the Little Red in Heber Springs, Arkansas. Water releases and fishing have been great. Here is a pic from a few weeks ago....

I'll second the Little Red. Check with locals for where the fish are. They will move a lot in that river.
Also the Norfork is fishing great right now, however it is a little further away than the Little Red.

If in the Little Rock area, then the Little Red is the place to go. I am in LR monthly and always threaten to take my stuff with me a detour by the Little Red . . Gotta do that next time!
