I bought a rabbit skin at Hobby Lobby real cheap. You can use a sharp knife and cut it yourself if you want. There is a tool that cross cuts it for you, but I don't know what it is called. I bought a skin that is mostly white, but has a little black in areas too. There is enough rabbit to last me a very long time.

I highly doubt it. I've never seen them, and I'm pretty sure live squirrels don't come in white.

The squirrel skins are probably dyed.

The town of Olney, Illinois is known for their albino squirrels. Now... how to get them out of town without getting arrested?? Hmmmm.

Thinking back to my younger days, I had reason to go to Rock Island Arsenal. At that time it was one of our largest manufactures of ammo and weapons. It is an Island of 946 acres in the Mississippi River. At that time it was a high security base. While I was there I saw many pure white squirrels running around. I asked and was told some government had presented them to our President. He had them turned loose at Rock Island Arsenal. They were not Albino. Always bred true to the white color. I heard later that some had escaped across the bridge, into Illinois. (see Bill's post above) I wonder if they may be living in some other country and thriving there?? If they escaped across the river, I would bet they have reproduced in the wild. The country along the river is very rough. Maybe some one of our history buffs can dig out the info about our President's gift??

seems to me that a white squirrel would be hawk bait pretty fast.

Yoy can use some long, thin bolts, washers as spacers and razor blades to make your own Zonker cutter. Thread the bolts through the "holes" in the middle of the razzor blades, set the width using the washers between the blades, tie together with some nuts and you are all set to go.
