    Hi Wayne,

Looks like it could double as a cricket also. Our crickets are black in PA. When I lived in Henderson, NV. I remember the crickets being brown ( there was a lot of them!), however, they may not have been native?

    Best regards, Dave S.

Reckon back in NV they were camo'd for desert now it's camo for the coal field. Crickets are black all over the SE too. I have a friend who like to drown cricket caught him a bunch of free range cricket and bought some. Bream ate every store bought cricket he had, wouldn't touch the free range. Explain that to me please.

I like the pattern look easy and effective.

Basically a GFA (not exactly a complicated fly to come up with via convergent evolution). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=juofPgOpic4

The GFA is a helluva fly. In black, it can clean up in Wisconsin when the crickets are out. Floats well and has good hooking capabilities.
