Jabanese Bread Crumbs (Panko) available at your supermarket or a specialty store.

Bluegill fillets available at the pond.

I'm with tim. The bread crumbs are baked to dry them out, and nothin' but crispy goodness. Fish, chicken, abalone, it's all good. IF it was cheaper to make my own, or IF I had enough bread going stale (with two kids??? LOL), or IF a US company had thought of this, I would be all over it.

These ain't yo momma's Contadina or Progresso bread crumbs.

Eric - On the box it says the crumbs are distributed out of San Fran - so where they were produced & packaged in anybodys guess.

The reason we prefer Panko over others is two fold. 1. The product is very low in sodium when compared to most crackers or bread crumbs and mainly number 2. It makes things you cook taste good. For instance if you do shrimp in Panko it tastes almost like those shrimp you get in an Oriental eatery.

Tim, on my box next to the distribution, it says "product of USA"

YOU HAD TO GO AND DO IT...YOU MENTIONED PANKO, AND MNKLAGOON SAID NOTHING BETTER THAN BREAM. So I had to make dinner with Panko, and had to prove MNKLAGOON wrong. There is better than bream.

Nothing that swims or crawls in the water is better than Albacore, you can fry it as pictured, or BBQ it in Soy and OO. Either way, it is the reason God presented us with fishing rods. (abalone doesn't crawl or swim...it kinda slimes along, and it is the BEST thing to come out of water...and it is good in Panko, too.)

Maodiver - I stand corrected. My box also says "Product of USA". I have never found a fish I didn't like in Panko and yours sure look tasty. Wish I was there to help you down them.
