    Default Bullet proff beetles

Theese beetles are TOUGH ! It's one thing to tie a nice fly and throw it at a good size trout or bass. But bluegills will hit flies indescriminetly, pulling at the legs and tails of flies too large to even fit in their tiny mouths. And if they do manage to get it in their mouths then comes the task of removing it without destroying it. My friend David Martin came up with a generic beetle pattern he use to tie for fly shops years ago. This is my version . Once you learn the basic pattern you can change the size or color to imitate any beetle you chose. The durability is built into the pattern . You can fish these with confidence knowing that they are going to last thru dozenz of fish.

    Fred,

Very cool pattern. I think it would make a terrific fly of the month, especailly as spring is just around the corner.
