Much appreciate all the best wishes! You all are just the very best folks ever.
Spent my Birthday mostly at the Buenos Aires National Wildlife Refuge counting birds as part of the Annual Audubon Christmas Bird Count. Recorded I believe 30+ species and several new birds to me, We were at the Arivaca section.
The refuge is very close to the Mexican border and we were stopped and checked by the Border Patrol on the way back. They are really checking everyone, one of their elite squad was murdered this last week.
You can see some of the back country down here on their website.

It certainly is very different from the Pacific NW which is where we did the bird count last year, in fact at the harbor in Poulsbo WA.
We do keep busy! Didn't see any fish on this trip 'tho.
    Hugs,
    LF

    Deanna,

Several years ago we had a mating pair of osprey at Arivaca Lake.

There are fish there too .

Ospery?? Pinedale WY has several pair around, Little Half Moon lake has two pair on it, at opposite ends. They are really beautiful birds where ever you can find them. I just wish they would stop catching bigger fish than me, especially in front of me!!

Right now is the season to see Bald Eagles cruising Lake Coeur d A'lene in north Idaho for land locked Silvers (Blue Backs). On many occasions they can be seen flying up and down the Spokane River just 6 blocks north of where we live. What a wonderful sight they are. They signal the change of the years. The Ospreys can be seen all year around over our local lakes and rivers. They are both a beautiful species.

Hey Joe I have traveled to lake Coeur d A'lene to see the Eagles, there were dozens of them in the trees the day we were there. Quite an awesome sight. There are several osprey nests in town here as the Osprey have finally made a full comeback here in the valley since they banned the use of DDT poisons.
For God's sake, Don't Quote me! I'm Probably making this crap up!

GnuBee, It's great to have you back posting again. You've been missed.
