Tim isn't going to be a little bit hard to haul your kayak on top of your car? I mean the car has forced you into a smaller tying kit, I can only think of how the Kayak will ride.
The kayak is eight foot long and the car is almost ten, I don't see any problem there. The tying kit had to shrink because it outweighed the car!

Almost ten feet long. And the tying kit had to shrink. Wow, you sure did downsize. But I'm sure you'll have no problem with the kayak on top.

From what I have seen with my own kayak, be careful of the wind. I tied it down front to back and side to side after my trip bringing it home from the shop. The kayak was showing sighns of some lift from the wind, and you don't want that when the only way home is on I-435 during the rush hour. Tim you could not imagine how much lift a 12" kayak had on my Jeep. I opened the sun roof and the back windows as to draw some of the air away from this sail, and I also slowed down my speed. It is amazing how many people gesture to you when you do this kind of thing on the highway.

Turn the 'yak over and the lift becomes downforce. Go fast enough, and you can drive on the ceiling!
