    Default Tongariro with switch rod.

Hi Guys just back from the Tongariro, River is very low and clear and full of fish! Not easy to fool but I did manage a few every day and the evening rise had to be seen to be believed, Trout everywhere and hitting a skating caddis with a smash. Great fun.
I caught fish each day on both the nymph with a scandi line and with small bunnys on the Skagit line. So with the evening dry fly I think must have fished every way possible!
I fished the Whanganui river on Saturday and got one absolute beauty, 51cm and just under 4Lb before I got run over by a Raft full of kids, not so much fun!! Managed to stay on my feet and even managed not to cuss them out as there were 2 small girls in the raft, I bit my tongue and just said to the Guide "Fancy meeting you here!" he was bright red with embaresment (sp?).
I will post some pics when I get a chance to download them from the camera, wont be today as I am pulling a double shift to try to catch up with all the work that did not get done last week.
    All the best.
    Mike

Sounds like great fun, apart from the raft run over. Looking forwards to the photos.

Put me down as one looking forward to seeing the pics. Have any of the raft run over by chance?

Sorry Ron, no pics of the rafts, I was just too busy trying to stay upright!

I thought perhaps you had a chance to snap a quick pic as the raft passed over your head while you were under water or something neat like that. Maybe a shot of the embarrassed guide. Glad you kept you head above water and your feet firmly on the river bottom.

Grand looking country, beautiful waters and the locals you provided pics of are mighty pretty too. Thanks for sharing them, Mike.
