Default Finally had a chance to cast some rods

After years of not being anywhere NEAR a flyshop I managed to try out some rods.

Mostly Sage rods (XP,TXL,FLI,TCR) some Orvis T3's and Loomis GLX. I only played with rods in the 3-5 weight range.

I was in the market for a 5 weight, but alas they had nothing shorter then 8 1/2'. Of all the different rods I played with there was one that just reached out and bit me in the leg. Needless to say it came home with me.

Oh yea, the rod is a Sage TXL 470-3

Good for you! That is a lovely rod and it will serve you well. Enjoy, you're worth it.

that is a "forever" rod. You will probably want to be buried with it. Happy fishing!

I just got the Fli 890-4 and love it so far. I just like the feel and the way it cast. To each his or her own. Have fun!
