Very nice ! BTW I was born and raised in Bayridge. Moved south in junior high. Love reading your reports!

What flies do you use to catch crappie?
I've caught crappie on a number of different flies: zonkers, woolie buggers, cat's whiskers, nymphs to name a few.
Nice crappie! They can be a blast on a fly.
The Green Hornet strikes again!!!
Neal, I like smallish clouser minnows, but have also been doing real well this fall on pine squirrel leeches and mini-zonkers.
If it swims and eats, it'll eat a fly.
Thanks for the tips. I've been targeting bass and bluegill, but would like to start fishing for some crappie.

My Fenwick is my favorite rod, sentimental for sure..
Is that an automatic reel? I have an older one (reel) and like it, wouldn't mind trying a new and improved one.
I make small clouser minnows using beaded chain (dipped in Testors white paint) and squirrel tail for hair as oppose to buck tail, works like a champ.
Thanks Old Man GO IRISH!
this reel is the new Thinkfish Bold semi automatic fly reel, from Spain. automatic fly reels have a spring to retrieve the fly line; semi automatic fly reels do not. the Bold has an adjustable drag, extractable spool and holds 100 feet of backing.
