Default Change of plans for Thursday night ....

Usually Thursday nights are reserved for our Fly tying/therapy group, but this Thursday I have other plans.

Our son, the Cop, will be awarded the Distinguished Service Medal by the Kansas City Missouri Police Department, for rescuing a family from their burning house.

    I am so proud.

Betty is being a bit modest...

    Heres a story: http://current.com/items/89147730_of...dal-awards.htm

As Betty stated below this is not the one, but sure gives the importance of this award..

    Well deserved!

With my upmost respect and appreciation for Tim and LEO like him!

    Be safe

Betty, ..."the hand that rocks the cradle..."

    Way to go, mom.

Oh, Steve! That was in 2008. Tim's award is for rescuing a baby from her crib, the Dad, wandering in a house of smoke, trying to get out . ( The baby was a lot lighter that the 300 lb sister in the other story!!) He also managed to get a couple little dogs out when he went in after the Dad!

    Thank you!

Congrats either way. I know you are very pleased with your son. There is not great reward that seeing your children become responsible, nice people. When they become people who risk their own safety for others that is just above and beyond what any of us should expect.

Way to go your highness, tell the other half congratulations also.

As it say in the Bible, "Greater love hath no man but that he give (risk) his life for another". My best regards and respect. Bust some buttons there Betty.

If he's going to go around saving people, the least I can do is tye flies for him ... if he flyfished! So far the bug has only bitten Cary and me ... and the kids all laugh at how totally involved we are!
