Thread: Coho Kryptonite?

  1. Default Coho Kryptonite?

Does anyone know how to tie this fly? It's supposed to be a killer for silver salmon in Alaska. It looks pretty straightforward, but I'm not sure if it is weighted with lead wire.

I read that it was typically fished like a nymph. Is that true?

tie in tail of krystal flash and it looks to be flashabou.

tie in chartruece estaz and wrap forward stroking the fibers towards the bend as you wrap. whip finish.

    take it fishing

p.s. add weight if you desire

I thought it looked like there was some flashabou mixed in with the krystal flash. I can imagine swinging it like a streamer, but would you really dead drift it like an nymph or egg pattern?

Try it and see what the fish say. That's all that really matters anyway, isn't it?
