Although simplistic I find this fly carries a bit of weight in the visual department, not sure why I like it so much, hope you all enjoy

Beautiful! I think anytime you can combine yellow and red in one fly, you've got a winner!! Thank you!

A friend is not who knows you the longest, but the one who came and never left your side.
Don't look back, we ain't goin' that way.
Very nice. Similar to a Cosseboom, which would just have a green body and red head. Sometimes the simplest of patterns have an elegance all their own.

Thanks for the kind words, I am a newbie to this tying thing( Feb 2010)and have been very fortunate to be mentored by some very talented tyers in Alantic Canada. Each ty I see improvement. Hope you do not mind my sharing I like to ty one pattern a day if possible. Costructive critisism is always welcome.
Welcome to the party Stage 1,
Very nice lookin Fly there.
Great job, Stage1. Your tying is impressive for someone that's only been at it six months.
I've not seen the collared version of this pattern before now. I've always liked full collars; the RAT series was among my early favorites to tie. Here are a few Joans I tied with the traditional yellow beard.
Very nice add a golden pheasant crest tail and you have a very popular Atlantic Salmon Fly on the Magaree River called the Ross Special
Again thanks for the encouragement, I will whip up a Ross tonight and post later
Pretty fly, and you are doing great for just starting out, wow!
