I saw this rod listed on EBay. The description of the rod matched that of those bright lime green rod blanks offered by the same seller. I suspect your rod is made on the same blank only a different color. If so I do believe you had one heck of a good time with that carp as my lime green rod is fun with small fish.

    Way to Go!

Good deal on the rod and the fish as well. Looks like a nice big fish. I landed a 30" fish once on my 3 wt with 6X tippet. It took 52 and I said that I would never do that again. It wore me out and while the fish was released he probably died from the prolonged battle. Now my choice of a carp stick is a 7 wt. Sometimes I do fish for them with lighter equipment but now lighter means 5 or 6 wt.

Tell us a little about the fly and the circumstances. Was the fish feeding on the surface or the bottom? Congrats on a good catch again.

    Hi Bill,

Great job on the fish and the rod! Only one thought, I wonder if the carp would have been twice as large if you had bought a $30 rod?

    Regards,

Probably not, Gandolf. But if there'd have been a six-year-old along with a snoopy rod, his fish would have been twice as big. At least it seems to always work that way when I fish with kids along.
If it swims and eats, it'll eat a fly.

the carp was caught at the end of the day. carp were feeding on the surface & i used a dry fly which resembled a brown piece of cotton on a #8 hook. It took 30 minutes to put a boca grip in his mouth. the rod has a nice slow flex which i think helped my 3X tippet. this carp used a lot of head shakes and even went into the BACKING.
