Love the bunny baitfish. What's the under body? Really nice looking fly.

Trey Combs: Steelhead Fly Fishing and Flies
Nice flies; your deceiver with the dumbell eyes is really more of a Half-and-Half (Clouser/Deceiver hybrid). Chartreuse/white was always a killer for false albacore when we fished behind the shrimp boats down at Harkers Island. The tail on your bunny fly looks a bit long - hope you don't have problems with tangling like I used to; I started adding a section of zip-tie to the hook shank prior to attaching the tail (piercing the bunny strip about 3/4" past the hook bend) to keep it from fouling. Have fun, hope you catch a bunch.

Scott
I like the Bunny Baitfish too, and the Half and Half. I thought Deceivers did not have lead eyes? That is why I would call it a Half and Half. What feather did you use for it? I like it. You have some nice flies there.
Yes, that fly is misidentified. Should be a half & half.
I'm glad people are liking the bunny baitfish, that's something I just kind of did on my own, using elements from a few different patterns. The feather is just a streamer hackle feather, nothing really outlandish on that one, but I like how it came together. The fly in the picture already has made a good showing of itself, hooking 2 smallmouth.
It looks like mostly white, with a touch of grizzly. I love grizzly hackle with a passion.
Actually, my mistake...the feathers on the half & half are from a Whiting American cape, in grizzly. Came home and double checked it.
Thank you. It is a cool. I like just about any grizzly feather I have ever seen. Grizzly is my favorite over all feather!
