    Default Thanks rick z!!!!

Man oh man - I should be used to the incredible generosity of this group by now - but I'm still amazed.

RICK Z generously offered and sent a few of his favorite bluegill flies to help me make the transition from cold water to warm water.

Finally remembered to take a camera along with me this afternoon and here is a sample of the bluegill and green sunnies that I was catching today:

    They were big rascals.

And just as I'm getting ready to wrap up and head back home - this bass decided to take this fly too:

What a gas! And that was between 3 & 4 in the heat of the day - imagine if I get a chance to get back down there later tonight!

So anyway - THANKS RICK for your kind generosity! I am trying to find all the bits and pieces of my tying bench (still packed up from the move here) and the first order of business is to tie up some flies for YOU.

    Thanks so much!
Thank God for my wife, the midge nymph and those hapless Iowa Hawkeyes!

It could be a red ear - I need to bone up on my sunfish identification skills. I know that it had a bigger mouth than the bluegill that were in there. I'll need to go and see which one it is...

And you're right about Rick's flies - they certainly DO catch fish!!!

Rick has sent me flies... I haven't tried them all, but boa yarn leeches have landed over 1,000 fish for me. I don't go fly-fishing without some!
