Want to wade in Cancun

I am going to Cancun the end of March and would like to wade the beaches. Has anyone out there waded the beach in the Riviera Maya area? Any help would be appreciated. When googling for Cancun, I only get proffession guides which I will not be in a position to take advantage of.

Hi there, Took a holiday in mexico last year but stayed south of Cancun (Playacar) I didn't manage to catch anything from the beach although I was bitten of by something, presumably a Barracuda and i did see lots of Jacks close in to the shore, sure gets your heart racig when one of these takes a swipe at your popper!!

Also great bonefishing over at Cozumel Island, prob about 40 mins away on a ferry although you will need a guide and skiff when you get there. If you're intersted in a guide I can give you the contact details of the guide I used, came highly recommended and put me onto lots of fish.

Did it hurt? How does something like that happen? I would think that a barracuda could do some real damage.

Let me know about the cozumel guide for bones. I may have to go that way. Can't possibly pass up the opportunity get in some salt fishing in a place that beautiful. How well did you do with the guide? He came recommended? How was his english (or how was your spanish?)
