gee...when i was a kid, the ads showed the naugas much bigger. otherwise how could you make a sofa cushion out of its hyde?
fly fishing and baseball share a totally deceptive simplicity; that's why they can both be lifelong pursuits.

It takes a while to read the entire thread, but it can be a fun trip down memory lane.

Thanks for reminding me of this one, Norman.

No way. My mom told me many MANY years ago that Naugahyde came from freshly picked Naugas. So now you're trying to tell me....... ANIMALS??

Oh, the inhumanity of it! My eyes! My eyes!

Of course! you don't wear "cotton hyde" do you?

Ugly critters, Naugas. They deserve to be turned into cheap chairs and couches.

Not even much good for fly tying.

Be careful how you live. You may be the only Bible some person ever reads.

Diane, they actually come for freshly picked, but properly aged Naugas. That's how they get the different colors. As far as the "hyde" part goes, you have to understand botanists. After all, long-staple cotton is MUCH more comfortable than short-staple cotten, and THAT'S counter-intuitive...
