That is very Nice! I too make the hex cases to go with some of my rods. here are a picture of a couple.
First one is a case for a 4 pc and the other one for 9' 2pc
Thanks everyone for the kind comments. Betty, the end caps both have a foam pad in conjunction with a traditional rod sock as well as the case being custom cut to length based upon rod sections which collectively prevent potential damage to the rod thus it isn't lined. Baitwaister, I like the addition of brass end caps.

I can't say about fly fishing but there's a lot of feed lots in Kansas.
