    Default ARE Bamboo Blanks

I am curious if anyone has built on one of the ARE bamboo blanks. If so maybe some feedback could be given. If you wish to keep confidential please PM me. Thanks

ARE is an ebay store. From what I understand the owner had owned fishing retail stores in what I beleive was the state NY. He goes by the name JK'S Angler's Roost. He does have some appealing prices on bamboo blanks. I saw some graphite blanks on sale through this site, so I thought the question about bamboo would be alright.

Angler's Roost Enterprises. Now it make sense. Hadn't heard of them before.

The requirements to get the Top Rated Seller badge are very stringent. I have a very high rating with Ebay but don't sell enough to get the top rated seller badge. You don't get the badge by doing customers wrong.

I would be very tempted to give one of his blanks a shot.

I have the blanks for sale here and have been very happy with his blanks in the past though I have never built one of his boo blanks I have built many of the others and have never had an issue with them unless you consider slamming one in the truck door an issue. Now I will say this from previous discussions about his boo blanks........ These blanks are made over seas and they are purchased from the manufacturer for mere pennies on the dollar. I would not expect a super high quality product from it but for the price..... not too bad from what I hear. The only other thing you will hear from anyone (maybe or maybe not on this board) is that they are not perfect and not made in the US and not worth a crap because of the afore mentioned faults but you'll only hear that from the purists who spend thousands of dollars on boo fly rods so you can't compare the two anyway.

I've dealt with ARE in the past and while I can't comment on the rods I can say that he is a top notch stand up guy to deal with. I'm tempted to try some of his ferrules on a cane rod.

Hard to believe he has that big of an eBay presence, but no website?

Kevin, I dont know if I should thank you or curse you. I appreciate the link, but since I was on the edge on ordering a bamboo blank from another company for twice the price, I think you just sealed my fate for building a low budget bamboo rod.

By the way, if you get an nasty-gram from Lady_Bug, you'll know I blamed it on you!
