I finally got to go fishing and was rewarded with a number of Skagit bull trout caught. This one the largest.

Nice Fish! Glad you got out on the water (from your smile I know you are too), what kind of fly landed that one?
"Because by the Grace of God I can, be on a beautiful mountain stream with a friend , have the water boil from a 12" Native Brookie taking a self tyed dry,and feel it on the end of my cane... It don't get no better than that..."
Grubb, the fly used was dark claret rabbit strip tied matuka style with a Mallard flank hackle on a #4 Alec Jackson hook. Very simple tie.
Ron, the Skagit was in great shape. Still running a bit high but as you can see the water conditions were excellent.
We were doing some exploring and checked out an old steelhead run that was washed away in the record flood of 2003. The run is reforming and held a large number of bull trout. Between my fishing partner and me, we hooked 20 or more bull trout in a few hours.

Outstanding! Thanks for sharing. A good Bull Trout is on my list, just have to get to where they live.
