Default I have it on good authority...

That Santa has ordered an extra load of coal.

    He's watching, boys and girls!

I used to tell folks that I got a diamond for Christmas. All I had to do was to squeeze it really hard for a million years.

In the spirit of christmass Santa can give my coal to Nighthawk. He must be burning plenty to power that light display.

    Thumbs up Hijack

taking this on a large hijack...... Growing up in Eugene Oregon electricity was cheap, everyone heated with it. Coal had to be shiped in and was expensive. no one used it. I first smelled coal while serving a Mission for my Church when I was 19 that was in England. All it takes if for me to smell a coal fire and my mind is right back in England. I love that smell.

I have a lump of coal I found while scuba diving. I had it displayed on a shelf along with other nautical type items. Many years ago, near Christmas, my kid asked me what that was. I explained that I got it one year for Christmas because I was on the naughty list. For a short time, both kids were on their best behavior.

A few years ago, our son's girlfriend was one of those Christmas snoops. She carefully unwrapped her gifts and re wrapped them. We have always used a method to "tamper proof" packages to guard against curious kids. Anyway, we knew the packages had been messed with so we took the contents from each box and replaced it with coal.

She was a lot more surprised than she thought she was going to be. She got the original gifts, but not until she had opened a couple of packages of coal. As far as I know, it cured her.
