Thanks to you, I now have drake greenwing and mallard breast feathers in the freezer for similar flies. Good golly you can get a LOT of feathers off a nice mallard!

Fatman. Like Q Kid said a Mallard has a lot of feathers. If a person was to shoot a limit of ducks (7) in one day there could conceivably be enough feathers on those birds to last two lifetimes.
I got a heck of a deal on Mustad hooks and I figure the flies in the attached picture cost me roughly 45 cents for all of them. (Gotta brag now & then).
