    Default Hans Weilenmann

    Hans,
    Thank you!
I shared your tying page with my husband, and I've not seen him in days. I hear the clinking of tying tools from the other room, but other than that, it's been totally quiet!! Occasionally, there's been a bit of fur or feathers fluff out the open door, but sightings are rare.
Your pages have been an inspiration to so many of us. Seriously, thank you.

I dont think anyone on the internet runs a nicer fly tieing website than Hans does. Its a thing of beauty and has been for a LONG time now.

    Thumbs up Thanks are due

I'm sure that most of us agree that Han's site and our own FAOL are the two real anchors on which we all depend for solid information. We owe both of them our gratitude.

    WOW!!!

I am so glad I read this thread and did a google search. I'm new to tying and didn't know who Hans Weilenmann was. Those flies are amazing and I can't get over how many there are. If there is someone else here new to tying you really need to look at those flies.

    Betty,

I shared your tying page with my husband, and I've not seen him in days.
And that is a good thing???

Thanks for the kind words. It is always nice to hear the page is of some use to you (all). A gallery by flytiers for flytiers. Is not this world of ours awash with superb tiers - from all corners of the globe?

Here, btw, is one I tied up last evening:

    Earth, Wind & Fire
    Hook: Grip 14723BL #8
    Thread: Uni-thread 8/0, red
    Hackle: Francolin body feather
Body: UV Ice Dub, tan - rope dubbed
Wing: Turkey quill segment, oak, doubled
    Shroud: Llama mix, olive

    Cheers,
    Hans W

For those that haven't checked out the "Search" feature on Hans' site, if you type in a material (peacock herl for instance) and hit the search button, you will get a list if flies that use that material with a link to the photo and recipe. The search for peacock herl found over 140 recipes that use it. The same works for the name of a fly.

Hans, great tying as usual, and photography.

    Wow,
Cool site. Now, all I need is some time to tie flies.

Hopefuly, in a few days, my wife will see the same thing Betty has (or more accurate, my wife will not see me for a few days as I'm tying flies for spring and summer).
