Long Island Casting School?

I'm looking for a fly fishing school on long island. I've been looking on the internet and all I find are guide services.

I've fished for a long time and now at the age of 62 I've discovered fly fishing. What I'd really like is some basic casting classes first and then move on to the other stuff, like what flies to use, etc. If I can't cast with any accuracy the having a box full of flys doesn't so me much good.

LI Flyrodders is an excellent organization and,yes, they can direct you to someone who will be happy to give you flycasting lessons. Orvis NY can also help out here.

The reason I didn't suggest them sooner is because I almost thought it was a joke that LadyFisher would need flycasting lessons. I honestly thought she was a flyrodder all this time. LadyFisher, haven't you flyfished on all the trout streams out west?

LadyFisher also has not specified whether it's Long Island, NY or Long Island, Bahamas. If NY, I received an email from Orvis-Greenvale, NY last week that they are starting flyfishing classes very soon here on Long Island, NY.
