Have you tried to tied one yet?
Hi Normand: Great fly. Can you get the pattern? I'd love to tie a few.

not yet but it shouldnt be too hard to tie one up.
just heard about it this morning.
just take a length of mono and burn one end into a ball and maybe flatten it before cooling to hold the beads on. thread on the appropriate color glass beads and then use epoxy or knot sense on the assembly. that will make up the extended body. tie on the tag end of mono onto the hook and then tie the rest of the fly.
Hmmm, wonder why this fly is just popping up on all the boards all of a sudden. It's been out for years. Normand has it right, but don't flatten the mono, leave it round as it'll help form the taper. A lighter colored bead in the middle (I use 3) helps with contrast. Mason's hard nylon (10-12lb) works well to string em up, but flatten the tie in point to help tie it in. I like UV knotsense as it's easy to get a body set up with it but then you have the tacky surface to wipe off and then you gotta shine it up with a finish coat of whatever you prefer. Sun curing it might help with this as I think it's less tacky when you cure it in the sun IMO.
