    Default Cook Islands

Hi Guys, just back from the Cook Islands, the game fishing for Wahoo, Tuna, and Mahi mahi was hard, we caught nothing on our one day out game fishing, but the light tackle spinning in the laggon and off the reef was, as usual, fantastic. Only managed a couple of hours before my rod broke just above the handle (think it may have been damaged in transit) and that ended my fishing! So I just had to spend more time snorkeling, swimming, kayaking and relaxing in the fantastic Raratongan Lagoon, what a bummer.
Here are a couple of pics.
    Barred Goatfish on a softbait.

    Cornet fish of the reef.

    The lagoon.

    All the best.
    Mike.

    Hi Mike,

Shame about the rod, but sounds like you found some good ways to compensate. Looks like the weather was good for you.

Well John it is a hard life but someone has to do it! How's the move going?
Jeff, of course the weather is getting better here in NZ as well, and the new season starts in a couple of weeks, might have to hit the Waiomu for a fish.
    All the best.
    Mike.

And a fine job of it you did, Mike.

Right now we are looking at a closing date of October 16. In the early stages of packing and storing stuff in preparation for when we finally buy a home up in Missoula, which, hopefully, will be before Thanksgiving.

    All the best back.

    Hi Mike,

I've been thinking about the Waimou. That's a nice little river. I've even ordered my license on-line so it will be there for me when we return in December!
