Coach landed 27 trout. A mixture of brooks and browns
Nothing huge. ALL trout caught on a girdle bug.
My buddy Bob Skoronski accompanied us .
Bob S and I did not fish.
Going out in the AM tomorrow again in bigger water.

That last picture would look awesome print-size, framed on the wall!
"It would get in the way of all of my hunting and fishing."

Sounds like a grand adventure. Glad that you enjoyed it and that the outting was successful.

The places you fish just look amazing...mind if I ask? Public access or by permission...no worries here...it would be a heck of a commute for me to get there!
the rest is private.
We were on the water for 11 minutes this morning.
The Coach was throwing a size 6 girdle bug.
A very nice trout hammered the fly and took off up stream.
It was not an extended battle.
We got it to hand. It was bleeding from the gills.
This is the first time I have seen a trout inhale a fly and
bleed from the gills like that. The Coach was really upset.
He said that he had only done that 2 or 3 times in all the
years he has fished.
We released it immediately with out any photos.
The Coach said "I am done."
We went to a coffee shop and shot the bull for a while and he
left back to Madison to the function he is speaking at.
I don't know if it is a superstition of his or he just felt that bad.
I didn't ask because he didn't want to talk about it.
Wow! Living in Houston and being surrounded by concrete all the time it makes me wonder what it must be like to live near such beautiful places. Then it makes me wonder what it must be like to get to fish waters like that!
I am jealous!
