I have an old pflueger medalist made in usa No.1495, and I would like to know if I can use a NEW reel spool to use on my old reel. If I can't, Is there a place I can buy the old spools?

You should be able to use the new spools, the old ones are avalible on ebay.
I would Take the reel to your local fly shop, try a new spool on it. buy it if it fits. Hit ebay if it doesnt.

You should also post a wanted ad over on Fiberglass Flyrodders. There are a lot of vintage reel owners over there and one of them can probably help you out.
It kind of depends on how old, but I think Eric's got the right idea if you have a shop close enough to you to make it worth the trip.
If it swims and eats, it'll eat a fly.
It should, I never had a problem. Some even can take the new 1595 rc spools..
Come over HERE and find the "Antiques" tab (lower on the page), go to "Reels by numbers". scroll down.
You should be able to find something for it since it was made up to 1994.
I fish with a 1494 DA as one of my reels.

Also the parts from the new medalist will interchange on the old reels. Just order them from Shakespeare and tell them it's for a newer reel.
