    Default Graphite Blank Repair

I just noticed that one of my rods has a chip in the blank near the tip-top. The finish is completely gone, exposing the graphite. Is there anything i can do to fix it up?

I'd wrap it with rod thread and cover with Flexcoat.

If it's a factory built rod, I'd send it back to the manufacturer, warranty or not. That chip may be an indication of a bigger problem.

Thanks for the replies. I found out that I overreacted and the "chip" was just a big scratch shaving off the coating on the rod.

I'm glad it turned out to be relatively minor.

Because they are fast, repairs to the tip ends of graphites are pretty impractical since they interfere with the part of the rod where most of the action is.
