I am looking for a VERY inexpensive GPS system, something to just give heading and distance to some mountain lakes. Nothing fancy! Anyone want to unload one so they can upgrade?

you can get the garmin gps-8, 12 or 45 models on ebay pretty cheap---ive been using them for years---the internal battery wears down and it loses its memory---you can send it to garmin or take your chances and try and replace the battery yourself---i think i paid 20 bucks for the last one that i got off there

Gee, I have one I ran over with a 650# ATV. The top third of the screen is a bit off... *S*
Maps and compasses still work, even in the days of GPS. Good compass is about $35, maps are free online if you dig around a bit...
Keep an eye on Sierra Trading Post and the bargain bin at Cabelas.
