    Default Sierras, part deux

It's been a huge desire of mine to connect with a brown. I love these guys. Not only are they gorgeous, I just love hearing the tales of what they consume. Well, I made another trip to the Sierras and got my first yesterday:

When the days look like this (sorry, camera got wet):

And your river bank neighbors look like this:

It just doesn't get any better.

There were lots of 'bows all throughout the day, but my last for the day was this fellow:

Beautiful days, and lots of fish. I'm loving this start to summer!

    John -

That is some great looking water and really purty fishies.

Not so sure about the snake, but if he helps keep the crowds away, good on him !!

    jburge,

    Nice pictorial.

Are you finding the water level higher this year over last. Back in October I was fishing the Sonora Pass above Strawberry and the water level was very low. Places I fished that would normally have 3+ feet deep pools were more around 18 inches. I sure hope the levels are up this year.

Thanks for the report John. Those are some nice fish except for the long skinny one. Jim

TyroneFly, yep levels are definitely higher. I'm still fishing from the bank in a lot of places where I would normally wade. It's a little too fast, a little too deep, and a little too cold for me

And for all you brownie pros... the thing that amazed me (and I didn't really realize it until I was looking at the pix) is the translucence of the tail. You can see the net markings through the tail. Amazing creatures.

    Stunning looking stretch of water.

Good idea to set out those rattler decoys to keep the pressure down
