I mainly use c&f microslit boxes but they are all the same color(beside waterproof models) , i was wondering what people do to label there boxes. Has anyone dyed there boxes a different color? What other ideas can i use to easily ID the boxes.

I use a Brother P-Touch label maker, and mark them so I can see the label without removing the box from my vest.
Also used it to label all my tying stuff, so I can tell at a glance what I'm reaching for.
While you're labeling, the TU address labels make a great way to put your name and address on your fly boxes. I put one inside, and one outside, just to be safe.
Ditto on the P-Touch. Greatest tool made. I also use it for the name & address on the outside since it's fairly waterproof. I also use it to label all my hook containers, fly tying materials, etc. Sure makes it easy to find stuff.

Part of the charm of flyfishing is going through the 143 boxes I carry with me, looking for a single fly. I use clear plano boxes, so I can see what is in them.
If you keep certain boxes in certain pockets, and NEVER change that, you will soon know where to reach for certain flies.

Put a dot of nail polish near the latch. Different color for different fly types.
It only takes about 3 or 4 trips to get used to the system.

Normand that's a riot...lol
Keep it simple, and "always put everything back in the same place" is the system I "TRY" to incorporate into my fishing, but I sometimes still find myself feeling like Normand's cartoon...
"Because by the Grace of God I can, be on a beautiful mountain stream with a friend , have the water boil from a 12" Native Brookie taking a self tyed dry,and feel it on the end of my cane... It don't get no better than that..."
