I live in the far west end of the state, We have Kentucky and Barkley Lakes with all the warm water fishing you could want. I also fish the Mississippi River and farm ponds. We do have one spring fed creek that the state stocks with Rainbow Trout. There are Lakes all over the state that are for public use, just where are you going to be?
The Cumberland River is great for trout. Lots of other fish in there, too.
Hello Pat,
I live in southwest Ky. (Greenville). I have plenty of warmwater places to fish. I would be glad to take you fishing. I don't know how to trout fish but KY has a wonderful trout river (cumberland river) about 2.5 hours east of my home. I would love to try it out with someone that knows how to trout fish. I will PM you my cell. I am retired so we may be able to work out a fishin trip.
1. fish strip mine lakes from kick boats. I have an extra boat. You need fins. These lakes are in the county that I live.
2. fish Lake Malone 7 miles from my house from my bass type boat or kickboats. One of the best LMB lakes in the state.
3. Meet me at Cumberland River below Wofe Creek Dam. I could bring canoe for float trip. We would already have 2 vehicles. I have never fished this river but we could figure out a good trip.
4. Access to a good warmwater stream about 1 hour from my home for rock bass, smallmouth etc. Wade fishing.

Sent you a PM
I work for a company that has a manufacturing facility just outside of Frankfort and I have driven over the Kentucky River (at least I think that is the name of that river) many time but have never fished it. It sure does look like it would hold alot of bass. I understand that there are a few canoe rental places up river from Frankfort if you wanted to rent a canoe.
