Fenwick Reel Question, unknown tool

I just ran out and purchased a cheap fenwick reel.
The problem is this thing that looks like a tool came with it.
Does anyone have this reel and know what this tool does. looks like a rench of sorts but I have no Idea as no instructions came with the reel.

It could be for changing the drag from right hand to left hand and Visa Versa. You have to remove something (Lotta Help There!!) and turn something over (Ditto On What Where and How!!)
Got a tool with my Pfluger to do just that.
Boy I've sure been a lot of help!!
Did it by accident once, still don't know how I made the reel a left hand retrieve??

Doesn't seem to fit anything, , Oh! Well! the reel sounds awesome. I can't even find the reel on the net, lol.

newfie - that Fenwick looks like a rebadged Berkeley 556 (or whatever size). If'n I recall, when u pop the spool out, the innards where the shaft and random parts are need a hex type wrench, just like the one you have. The tension of the fit of the spool is adjustable by scrunching up the rubber gasket on the shaft.

I don't think so, , there is nothing there shaped like a hex the guts are quite simple.
I posted it to a local news group, and someone responded by saying, he thinks it doesn't belong with the reel at all, but with a spincast reel, saying it is a wrench/flat head screw driver.
I am thinking he's right about the part where he says it doesn't belong with this reel although I don't know for sure if it belongs to a spincast reel.

The tool is indeed a wrench for the reel and probably was designed to do duty on all models of their graphite reels (I used to have both of the models smaller than yours). The slot in the middle of the tool fits the top of the spindle if you need to tighten it. On the models I had the hex wrench fit the nut/cover on the back of the reel. Perhaps if you pop off the cover on the back you would see a nut there (but don't bother, it is probably not made for the cover to come and go with ease). As mentioned by lesyoung the smaller models had a friction fit spool. The friction was adjusted by tightening a screw on the top of the spindle to scrunch up a rubber sleeve covering the spindle - thus the screwdriver portion of your tool.

I have the same reel and the "tool" fits the nut on the back of the reel. Mine didn't have a cover with logo on it, so I found out right off that it fits back there.

I don't know why one dould ever want to undo the nut and pop the whole works out of the housing though.

Mine has lasted for a VERY long time and is still going strong. A thin diam. line can get caught between the spool and the housing, but not often. As with most reels, the less you play with the innards, the better ('cept for regular cleaning).

Ah, thanks a bunch gents, welcome your insight.
I just love the sound on the clicker plus I think it was 10 bucks cheaper than it was this past summer. Yep, she's a really big real yet one third the weight of my J.W. Young 1530 which I love dearly.

FYI Berkley owns Fenwick and Mr. Hank Parker owns the Company. The tool is used to change the drag right to left hand retreive.
