Rodloft Pro Rod Mounts - Looks good. Any opinions? Can a complete klutz install it?
L.L. Bean's stripping basket - I saw one positive when I searched FAOL. I would mainly use when boating, can it be used sitting down?
Thanks in advance.

Pretty sure that the LL Bean basket was discontinued
There's a lot of people that would like to get their hands on one too.
They were very similar in quality to the Orvis model and a third of the price.
I seem to remember that someone from across the pond had resurrected them but they were reported to be quite expensive.
This is my home made basket

You can use the LL Bean stripping basket while sitting down. Depending on the boat, you may have to wear it a bit higher in certain applications, but it works just fine.

This is the British knock-off of the discontinued LL Bean basket that was so popular.
49pounds plus shipping.... the original basket from Beans was $20

I'm curious to hear about the rodloft mounts too.

While I can't comment specifically on the LL Bean packable stripping basket, I use one that is very similar and I really like it. I think is was from D&B. It's so light that I hardly know that it's there and it works. My only gripe is that it sometimes allows the line to tangle a bit. Not very often and not bad, but once in a while. I have considered placing a piece of plastic with cones in the bottom of the basket but I never seem to get around to it. I've used this basket extensively for about 10 years.
