Default Fly rod advice needed for creek fishing

We have a couple of good streams which you have to hike in and are bordered on all sides with brush.

What type of rod, length and weight should I consider.

My only rod is a 10 foot 6 weight echo - moderate fast which has a pretty good action for a newbie like me.

I have a 6' 5 wt "no-name" backpacking rod that works well for me. I like to backpack and have found this rod works for all waters from large lakes to small "step-across" creeks but I don't toss large flys with it, nothing above a size 4 wooly bugger.
