Anybody can photoshop, but it still takes a photographer to take a good photo.

    Good morning.
    DG,
    You are correct,
    BUT
a lousy image capture can be turned into something beautiful
    WITH
    the aid of a computer.

    BUT
    "Anybody can photoshop"
This is not the case !
Simply because you require a arty direction in your mind, which will give you the path to take through the modification of the image with a computer program.

    Kind regards,
    UB

    Good morning NightH

    Lets be fair shall we.

The top image is is out of focus, this could be corrected in a photoshop type program.

the bottom image has a higher contrast and is a sharper image
also the Hue and Satuation are different between the images,

therefore we are not playing on a level feild.

    IF
the top image was taken with a good 10mp camera, you would have captured a better image to start with.
    then
    IF
the image was captured in RAW
    AND
then transfered to a photoshop program

The final result would or could have been very different.

    Kind regards
    UB

Very true about not just anyone can use photo enhancement
software correctly. I have seen the imaging effects way over used
many many times.. Kind of like dancing some just can't.. but think they can

This shot use two techniques that take a nice shot to the next level.

The natural light taken from the original shot remained untouched.
That is indeed the real morning sunrise... clouds are also untouched

Dither the flag and feathered sepia tone of the image were the only methods used here,
and of course cut and paste of old glory

It takes quite a while to really learn and manage the image tools in order to apply just the right amount of technique.

It really is an art form when done correctly, as well as a neat hobby.

I intentionally left those images unaltered other than some crop. I got a little carried away on the first one. Your photo is vignetted pretty heavily. The idea here is not whether I can use PP or not. Rest assured I can. The idea was to see if anyone can tell which camera took which photo just by looking at them here. Both cameras were set up using autofocus, auto program. The first shot is zoomed perhaps a little tighter. They were recorded in RAW. I do know just a little about what I am doing. Lets just forget the whole idea and write it off to experience. I will delete the photos.

    OPPS, sorry NH
I thought we were sharing ideas about photos/images.

There I have removed the one I changed of yours.

Since I am calling off the whole deal for the record the first photo was taken with the 10 megapixel camera! Both cameras are Pentax DSLR's, K10D and K110D. I know lots of people consider them to be of poor quality but I, for one, am partial to them.

You should be ashamed of your self making an ill man jump up and salute like that!

I love the shot and the PP work! Well done!
