    O.K. ...
    i finally got time to tie the deer hair "christmas mouse"...and now i can't find the pic.!!
    i did a search...no good checked the "fly of the week" archives...nada...
    any help??

    Just a tip, Bill. I tie a lot of hairbugs for saltwater. If you don't cover the shank of the hook with thread, the hair will spin easier. After you spin the hair and pack it, tie a double half-hitch in front of the tuft of hair you just did, and then touch the knot with a dab of "Sally's Hard as Nails" fingernail polish. Then, if you break your thread, the knot is secure.

    I think that fly would absolutely decimate the Ranbows in AK.
