Thanks QC for your post. I will dig this one up long after it leaves the front page of the forum board and listen to it again. Brooks is a hall of famer in my book!
In his book "The Trout and The Stream" he gifted me two things, and these certainly where not the only rewards from his books.
Firstly, his interpretation of the Montana Stone fly. I like to tie it, and I like to fish it. Even when I sit and tie the fly my mind wanders to Yellowstone country and it fishes well in my thoughts.
Secondly, what a great resource he gives in chapter 15. Of the 2,000 angling books he read, he gives his list of 40 worth some merit, and they are all noteworthy. I keep pecking at the list. Some day I'll read them all if I can find them. Their authors give me as much pleasure fishing in print as the fishing itself.
Guys like Charles Brooks don't come along very often. He's missed by the likes of me. Thanks again.
