    Smile Readers Cast - Jindabyne

Bill, That was a really interesting story. Do you keep a journal of your escapades or is this from memory? I enjoyed it. Jimsnarocks

I agree, great story. Made a wonderful read with the morning coffee.

You have sparked something in us Aussies! Nice story, it is a great place and has some awsome still water fishing. Glad you enjoyed it and some of our wildlife. At least we do not need bear spray, mountain lion spray or any other sort of furry critter repellant!

the chances getting bitten by a snake are so remote, they dont stalk/hunt you! the only bad time for snakes is when its there breeding season other than that they wont attack unless threatened. Jindabyne is a great place has many beautiful streams close by. Although at the moment its been hit heavy by drought

    Good evening
"What type of spray is used to repel Taipans or King Browns?"

Taipans don't like down that way, its too cold for them.
The King Browns, sadly they grow to over 3 meters/9feet long long.

Then there are Tigers, as in snakes, Blacks, as in snakes, Copperheads and a couple of others.

    The repel spray,
the most common type is easy to obtain and keep stored ready for use at anytime, all ready to use within a second or less when one of these stinking rotten things lifts its head up about 6inches in front of your foot and smiles.

This gas, the repeling gas carrys an smell, that most people near by can smell, almost feel !

Now the only problem being once the gas is released sometimes there are bit of solid also released, which also helps remove the snake and your near by friends, its that powerful.

Even when this gas is released behind you, the snake takes off !

Then after the event, the gas and or solid release, it is advisable to remove and wash your shorts and or waders, as sometime the release just uncontrolable and fills even your waders !

    Kind regards,
    UB

    UB,

That must be the same spray I use when confronted by a large Grizzly. Makes walking around after use a "sticky" situation.

Lovely picture, what does it look like now that the dam is in?

    Gringo,

Ron, the spray I use contains a very high content of lead.

Seriously though, our snakes go to great trouble to avoid us. You guys have some too - rattlers etc? Our deadliest is the brown snake but the strongest venom is in the northern snake, the taipan. The most aggressive is the tiger, which I have actually been bitten by and don't recommend it.

What we like about snakes here is that it might kill you but it isn't going to rip you limb from limb and tear your face off while your'e trying to get it off you like a bear. And no crocs in Jindy, just the biggest fattest trouties you ever saw.
