I believe it is a varation of his own equation. I know he bought the blank stripped it down himself. I found it on ebay searching for one and I have a few brookies creeks/rivers that I can't wait to try it on. I was casting her yesterday and was getting upto 30ft with out a tippet or fly on. He said he field tested it and reached upto 50 ft.
He said he pretty much beats the crap out of his rods to make sure what he is building stands up to its name.
All I have to say it is a well built rod and pictures do not do its justice not matter how good the quality of the pics are.
I am sending off a 3 peice to him to have done, I purchased the rod off ebay for 23 bucks, it was in pretty mint condtion all from 30's. I can't wait to get it finished now, too. I think I am going to go with a maple reel insert for this one.
